Gmail Motion April Fools' gag turned into reality using Kinect Sensor (video)
Using the Flexible Action and Articulated Skeleton Toolkit (FAAST) software and a Kinect sensor, USC ICT lab successfully turned Gmail motion April Fools’ joke into reality!
"This morning, Google introduced Gmail Motion, allowing users to control Gmail using gestures and body movement. However, for whatever reason, their application doesn't appear to work. So, we demonstrate our solution - the Software Library Optimizing Obligatory Waving (SLOOW) - and show how it can be used with a Microsoft Kinect sensor to control Gmail using the gestures described by Google."

Google introduces the +1 button, which lets you recommend things to your friends, contacts and others through your Google Profile
The +1 button is a shorthand for "this is pretty cool" or "you should check this out." Click +1 to publicly give something your stamp of approval. Your +1's can help friends, contacts and others find the best stuff when they search.
